His zeal for the things of God and his dedication to selfless service was simply outstanding, hence his appointment by the church Committee of his Local Church to be the acting Pastor for a year (1994 – 1995). This opportunity aroused his interest and deepened his zeal for full time Pastoral ministry and he enrolled for one year preliminary theological training which he completed in June 1996, thus he started his full time ministerial work on 2nd June 1996.

By the year 2000, Rev. Benson proceeded to the renowned Samuel Bill Theological College, Abak where he obtained a Diploma in Theology on completion of the four year course.
