RASING CHILDREN IN THE FAITH

IMAN MUNAM SERMONISES ON RAISING CHILDREN IN THE FAITH

During the Thanksgiving of the Children’s Retreat, Christian Parents were urged to raise their children in the Faith. The Bible Reading was taken from Psalm 127:1-5, while the text of emphasis was Genesis 18:19.

Iman Munam began by explaining that children are an heritage of the Lord. The Minister further stated that every child is a builder of the family. As such, being a parent is a honor and privilege.

Furthermore, the Cleric pointed out that what marks one out as a Christian Parent is raising one’s child in the way of the Lord, just as Abraham did to Isaac. Conclusively, Christians were urged to lead their children by example.

SACRIFICE YOUR WATERPOT

ELDER DAVID ETUKUDO EXHORTS CHRISTIANS TO SACRIFICE THEIR WATERPOT

Elder David Etukudo began by defining sacrifice as the act of giving up something important to have something else. The minister pointed out that when a person sacrifices something, such a person does it with faith, and also does it expectantly.

The book of John 4:27-30 talks about the encounter the Samaritan woman had with Jesus at Jacob’s well. She sacrificed her water pot and rushed into the city to testify about what took place in her life. Thus, she abandoned her old ways of life and embraced JESUS.

In furtherance, the Minister urged the Church to sacrifice their time, resources, service and whatever will give glory to God. He noted that JESUS himself sacrificed His life for the Church. Conclusively, the Preacher noted that there are blessings of sacrificing unto GOD, most essentially, eternal life.

DO NOT FEAR

REV. O. T. BENSON URGES CHRISTIANS NOT TO FEAR

The Cleric began his sermon by reminding Christians that they should always trust in God and not be afraid of anything despite the prevailing circumstances. The Bible Reading was taken from Isaiah 41:8-13 and the Minister expounded on the definition of “fear”. He pointed out that fear is a tool in which the devil uses to hinder our progress.

Furthermore, the Cleric explained that fear has a paralyzing effect on the church and individual Christians. It was also noted by the Minister that the time of fear is the time to put their total trust in God.

Conclusively, the church was urged by the Minister to always remain steadfast in God and not live a life of fear. It is important to therefore believe and trust the supremacy of God because he that fears God fears nobody else
