APPRECIATING GOD

REV BENSON CHARGES BELIEVERS TO APPRECIATE GOD

Rev. O. T. Benson charged the Church to always appreciate God. The Bible reading was taken from Luke 17: 11 – 19. The texts of emphasis were verses 15 – 19. The Superintendent commenced the sermon by defining appreciation as the act of estimating the qualities of things and giving them their proper value. It is also a thankful recognition.

He pointed out that Christians’ lack of appreciating God is due to their lack of consciousness of what people are passing through. This tendency of ingratitude, as noted by the man of God, is a major reason for stagnation. If someone does not thank God for where God has brought him to, he will not get to the destination God plans for him.

Also, the Reverend noted that appreciation gives us a platform to receive greater blessings from God; it indicates that we value the blessings of God which prompts us to receive a glorious future.

He concluded the sermon by charging believers to be like the Samaritan that was healed of his leprosy by Jesus, and always return to give thanks to God.
